Instructional Designer @ UCC (2024-current)

Introduction

My current role is as an Instructional Designer at University College Cork, where I am working on the “Inclusive Assessment” project. The project is examining ways to make assessment practices more inclusive, including embedding Universal Design for Learning (UDL) practices at the institutional level.

The Role

  • Coordinate assessment mapping exercises across university modules to inform policy development
  • Produce analytical reports using Excel, Sway and data visualisation tools
  • Plan and facilitate consultation workshops with staff and students on assessment practices
  • Serve on the Teaching and Curriculum Committee, supporting module curriculum approvals
  • Create instructional materials for staff workflows and processes
  • Support colleagues with VLE configuration and accessible templates
  • Provide guidance on accessible video content creation and digital tools
  • Develop and deliver workshops on generative AI in education
  • Present at teaching and learning showcases on digital education topics
